Makinde Eulogises Adefope, Describes Death as Sad

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed profound sadness over the death of Ambassador Ibironke Adefope, a former Nigerian High Commissioner to Zambia and member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council.
Makinde described Adefope as a great Amazon and an icon who made immense contributions to the development and progress of Oyo State and Nigeria.
According to a statement by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Makinde said Adefope’s passing is a great loss to the state, and she will be greatly missed for her support, words of advice, and commitment.
“Mama was a great Amazon and an icon, who made immense contributions to the development and progress of Oyo State as well as Nigeria. She sustained the great legacy she inherited and also made her marks on the sand of time,” Makinde said.
The governor prayed for God’s comfort for Adefope’s family, friends, and all those who knew her, saying, “May the Lord console everyone she left behind.”
Makinde also acknowledged the shock he felt upon receiving the news of Adefope’s passing, stating that it’s a reminder to submit to God’s will.
Adefope’s legacy will continue to inspire and motivate others to work towards the progress and development of Oyo State.
The governor’s condolences reflect the impact Adefope had on the state and its people.
