APGA National Chairman Confident to Retain Anambra in 2025 Guber Contest

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sly Ezeokenwa, has expressed confidence that his party will emerge victorious in the November 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
In an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Wednesday, Ezeokenwa stated that the party’s performance in the state, particularly in the last three years, has endeared it to the residents of Anambra.
He attributed the party’s popularity to the excellent performance of the current APGA-led administration, which has delivered on its development promises.
“Anambra people can say, ‘We’ve never had it this good in just three years by any elected officials in the past.’ That is the consensus opinion on the streets of Anambra. And in that context, I can tell you, well, there is no contest really,” Ezeokenwa said.
The APGA chairman noted that the party’s legacy, which dates back to 2006, has remained unbroken and has deepened with the current administration’s delivery on development promises.
He also highlighted the party’s ideology of “leaving no one behind,” which resonates deeply with voters across Anambra.
Ezeokenwa’s statement comes on the heels of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s release of the final list of candidates for the November election. While acknowledging that elections naturally involve multiple candidates, he believes that the reality on the ground points to APGA enjoying overwhelming support.
“It appears in Anambra we are tilting towards a consensus candidate, because there is a consensus of opinion, given the massive and excellent performance of the incumbent and APGA-driven ideology,” Ezeokenwa said.
With the November polls approaching and official campaigns expected to begin, APGA is confident of retaining the governorship seat in the South-East state.
The party’s candidate, Chukwuma Soludo, is seen as the popular choice among Anambra residents, who are satisfied with the pace of progress in the state.
As the election season heats up, all eyes will be on Anambra State to see if APGA can indeed deliver on its promise of a landslide victory.
One thing is certain, however the party is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to retain power in the state.
