7 Dead, School children Missing as Storm Wreaks Havoc in South Africa

A severe storm has hit South Africa, leaving widespread destruction and loss of lives in its wake.

According to reports, at least 7 people have died, and several schoolchildren are missing after being swept away by floodwaters.

In one rescue operation, three children were plucked from trees near the city of Mthatha, where they had been clinging for hours to escape the rising waters.

The storm, which began on Monday, has left a trail of devastation in its wake, with the Eastern Cape province being one of the worst affected areas.

Search operations are ongoing to locate the missing children, and authorities are working tirelessly to respond to the crisis.

The full extent of the damage and loss of lives is still being assessed, but it is clear that the storm has had a profound impact on the region.
