Tinubu Eulogises Dangote Refinery As Landmark Endeavor of Our Era

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extolled Aliko Dangote, the visionary behind the Dangote Group, for his steadfast faith in Nigeria and for undertaking daring investments that have become pivotal in the nation’s economic metamorphosis.

Concurrently, the Dangote Group has pledged N900 billion towards enhancing road infrastructure nationwide.

Addressing attendees during an eminent tour of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex over the weekend—an event which also celebrated the formal inauguration of the Deep Sea Port Access Road—the President hailed the refinery as “a monumental achievement,” deeming it “an extraordinary project of our era” and “a significant benchmark for Nigeria’s industrial and economic advancement.”

“Upon inspecting the Dangote Refinery, which stands as a noteworthy benchmark, a remarkable phenomenon of our era, and a substantial investment, I wish to express my gratitude to Aliko Dangote,” President Tinubu declared.

“I am also gratified that the Deep Sea Port project, initiated during my tenure as Governor of Lagos State, has emerged as a resounding triumph. It has notably curtailed logistics expenses by obviating the necessity for trans-shipment.”

The President further praised the caliber of infrastructure realized under the Federal Government’s Tax Credit Scheme, specifically acknowledging Dangote Industries Limited and its subcontractor, Hitech Construction Company Limited, for the completion of the port access road.

In a moment of homage, President Tinubu characterized Dangote as the sagest intellect within Nigeria’s economic realm, citing his expansive investments and unwavering dedication to the nation.

“I arrived here with four astute individuals. I shall call them astute individuals,” Tinubu remarked. “Jim Ovia of the illustrious Zenith Bank, globally recognized. Femi Otedola, my younger brother. Samad Rabiu of BUA. And, in my opinion, the most astute of them all, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who is audacious in his thinking, actions, and belief in his country.”

In his address, Aliko Dangote acknowledged the favorable impact of President Tinubu’s economic strategies, attributing recent reforms to creating a more supportive environment for industrial prosperity and enduring investment.

He underscored that under these initiatives, eight major roads—including the Lekki-Epe corridor—have been allocated within the same vicinity at a combined cost of N900 billion.

Dangote also disclosed that, despite remitting N450 billion in taxes the previous year, the Group remains committed to investing N900 billion in road infrastructure across Nigeria.

According to Dangote, the Deep Sea Port Access Road is “one of eight significant road projects spanning 500 kilometers, including two in Borno State that will eventually connect Nigeria to both Chad and Cameroon.”
