Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, Defects to APC
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The National Vice-Chairman (South-South) of the APC, Chief Victor Giadom, has welcomed Governor Eno and other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the party.
According to Chief Giadom, Governor Eno’s decision to join the APC is a strategic move that will foster greater synergy with the Federal Government and unlock more social and economic opportunities for the development of Akwa Ibom State.
This move is seen as a major boost to the APC’s presence in the South-South region.
The APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda, led by President Bola Tinubu, has been attracting leaders and people from the South-South region who are keen to work with the party to drive progress and development in the region and the country.
Chief Giadom has assured Governor Eno and his supporters of the zonal leadership’s fullest cooperation towards delivering improved governance, dividends of democracy, and a massive electoral victory in the Zone in 2027.
This development is expected to have significant implications for the political landscape of Akwa Ibom State and the South-South region as a whole.
