Online Scammers Take Over Abuja

Abuja has witnessed a surge in online scams after a fake Facebook account was created in the name of Amb. Dunoma Ahmed, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The account has been used to deceive people by spreading false information and making promises of contracts and rewards.

Kimiebi Ebienfa, the ministry’s spokesperson, cautioned the public against engaging with the account, stating that it is not an authorized channel of communication. The Permanent Secretary, Amb. Dunoma Ahmed, does not have a social media presence, and any interactions with the fake account should be avoided.

The ministry is taking proactive measures to address the issue, collaborating with security agencies and Meta, the parent company of Facebook, to investigate and take down the fake account.

This move demonstrates the ministry’s dedication to maintaining transparency and protecting citizens from online fraud.

By working together with relevant authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the leadership of Amb. Dunoma Ahmed, aims to prevent further deception and ensure the public is aware of the risks associated with such scams.

The ministry’s commitment to integrity and citizen protection remains unwavering, and it will continue to take necessary steps to combat fraudulent activities.
