Directive to Refrain from Posting on Social Media During Election by Kimambi Sparks Outrage

Tanzanian blogger Mange Kimambi has sparked outrage from Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo after urging her daughter, Priscilla, and son-in-law, Juma Jux, to refrain from posting content on social media during the country’s upcoming elections.
Kimambi claimed that the couple’s online activity was a distraction from the nation’s political struggles, and warned them to “lay low” for the next five months.
Iyabo Ojo took to Instagram to express her displeasure at Kimambi’s comments, accusing the blogger of attempting to intimidate and disrespect her daughter and son-in-law.
The actress emphasized that she has taught her daughter to be confident and authentic, and would not stand for anyone trying to dictate what she can and cannot post online.
Ojo also addressed speculation surrounding her daughter’s wedding, stating that it was a cultural tradition in her family for the bride’s family to cover wedding expenses, and not funded by the Tanzanian government.
She added that she had wanted to give her daughter a grand wedding in Nigeria, which was made possible by the support of Nigerians.
The actress criticized Kimambi for trying to dictate to her daughter and son-in-law from afar, and warned her to keep Priscilla out of her affairs.
Iyabo Ojo emphasized that her daughter is loved and well-protected, and would not be swayed by Kimambi’s attempts to control her online activity. Diamond Platnumz, a friend of Juma Jux, was also mentioned in Kimambi’s post, with the blogger asking Jux to tell him to “lay low” for the next five months.
