Delta State Pilgrims Join Others in Mecca to Observe Eid-el-Kabir

A delegation of Muslim faithful from Delta State has joined millions of pilgrims from around the world in the holy city of Mecca to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir, a significant Islamic festival that commemorates the willingness of Prophet Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to Allah.

During the pilgrimage, the Chairman of the Delta State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Alhaji Auwal Tukur, led the delegation in offering fervent prayers for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, seeking divine guidance and strength for their leadership.

Tukur called on Muslims across the globe to emulate the spirit of sacrifice and selfless service to humanity, as exemplified by Prophet Abraham’s obedience to Allah’s command. He reminded Nigerians of the importance of praying for peace, unity, and all-round development in the country, stressing that the Eid-el-Kabir celebration should be used to promote love, kindness, and generosity towards fellow human beings, regardless of their tribe, religion, or social status.

The Delta State Muslim leader expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for providing rams and food items to Muslims in the state, and also thanked his predecessor, Senator Okowa, and the people of Delta State for their love and care for Muslims and other non-indigenes.

Tukur also seized the opportunity to warn those involved in criminal activities in Delta State to relocate, warning that the long arm of the law would soon catch up with them. He assured that the Hausa community and other tribes in Delta State were impressed with Governor Oborevwori’s leadership style and pledged 100% support to his MORE Agenda.

The Chief Imam of Ekiti State, Alhaji Abubakar Musa, who led the pilgrims in prayer, called on all Muslims to join hands in praying for the reversal of ugly trends in Nigeria.

He offered special prayers for Governor Oborevwori, Senator Okowa, and the people of Delta State, praying for more development and peace in the state.

The Eid-el-Kabir celebration is a significant event in the Islamic calendar, and the pilgrimage to Mecca is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many Muslims to perform the sacred ritual.

The Delta State Muslim delegation’s prayers for the country’s leaders and the state’s development are a testament to the power of faith and the importance of seeking divine guidance in times of need.
