Xpress Payment Solutions Appoints Wale Olayisade Acting Managing Director
Xpress Payment Solutions Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Wale Olayisade as the company’s Acting Managing Director, effective June 1, 2025.
The appointment follows the retirement of Dr. (Mrs.) Markie Idowu, who successfully led the company for the past five years.
In a statement issued by the Board of Directors, the company expressed appreciation for Dr. Idowu’s impactful leadership, noting that she played a pivotal role in steering Xpress Payments through a period of rapid digital transformation and market growth. Dr. Idowu will continue to serve on the company’s board as a shareholder and Non-Executive Director.
Mr. Olayisade, who steps into the role with immediate effect, brings with him over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications, financial services, and fintech sectors, with strong expertise in digital innovation, strategic transformation, and technology management.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the company’s Executive Director and Chief Information Officer (CIO), where he was instrumental in leading key digital initiatives and system upgrades that enhanced the company’s service delivery and operational efficiency.

Mr. Olayisade holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and a Master of Science (MSc) in International Management from the University of Liverpool.
He has also undergone executive education at Columbia Business School in New York and the Lagos Business School, further enhancing his leadership credentials.
His appointment comes at a time when Nigeria’s digital payment ecosystem is expanding rapidly, with fintechs playing a critical role in financial inclusion and economic development.
Established in 2016, Xpress Payment Solutions Limited is a licensed Payment Terminal Service Provider (PTSP) and offers a range of electronic payment services.
These include payment collections, bill payments, transaction switching, fund disbursements, and value-added services for both private and public sector clients.
The company is recognized for its robust payment infrastructure and is a trusted partner to banks, merchants, government agencies, and fintech innovators across Nigeria.
