Four Years On, Amaechi Yet to Debunk Wike’s Claim of Making Him Governor

It’s been four years since former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, claimed to have made former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi governor which the later is yet to Refute or contradict.

Wike had alleged that he was the pivot behind Amaechi’s emergence as governor, and that Amaechi had even acknowledged his role in his success.

According to Wike, Amaechi had publicly stated in a church that after God, he (Wike) was the next person he was grateful to for his governorship.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Amaechi later went on national television to downplay Wike’s role in his success, referring to him as just an employee.

Wike had expressed his disappointment and amusement at Amaechi’s sudden change of heart, stating that he had championed Amaechi’s candidacy for governor and had even been offered the position of Commissioner of Finance, which he declined in preference of becoming Chief of Staff.

The question on everyone’s lips now is: has Amaechi ever debunked Wike’s claims? The answer appears to be no. Despite the passing of four years, Amaechi has not publicly responded to or refuted Wike’s allegations.

This has led many to wonder if there is any truth to Wike’s claims, and why Amaechi has chosen not to address the issue.

The silence from Amaechi’s camp has only served to fuel speculation and reinforce Wike’s narrative.

Many are now calling on Amaechi to come clean and set the record straight, especially given the significance of the claims and the impact they could have on the public’s perception of his character and integrity.

As the political landscape in Rivers State continues to evolve, the Wike-Amaechi saga remains a topic of interest and debate. With Amaechi’s failure to debunk Wike’s claims, it appears that the latter’s version of events may be the one that stands, at least for now.
