Defence Minister Badaru Abubakar Commends Nigerian Defence Academy’s Progress

In a bid to bolster the nation’s defence capabilities, Minister of Defence Badaru Abubakar has undertaken a two-day inspection tour of key military facilities in Kaduna State.

 

The visit, which commenced with a stop at the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy, afforded the minister an opportunity to engage with senior officials and assess the institution’s overall performance.

 

During his visit to the academy, Abubakar was warmly received by Commandant Major General A.K. Ibrahim, who provided a comprehensive briefing on the institution’s operational and academic pursuits.

 

The minister was impressed by the academy’s strides in innovation and excellence, as evidenced by its state-of-the-art facilities, including the Hall of Fame and the Centre for Innovation and Creativity.

 

Abubakar expressed his appreciation for the academy’s outstanding achievements, attributing its success to the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to providing necessary resources and upgrading its infrastructure.

 

The minister’s Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mati Ali, noted that the visit underscores the government’s resolve to enhance the country’s defence capabilities and tackle modern security challenges.

 

As part of his itinerary, Abubakar is also scheduled to visit the Buffalo Engineering Technical Services and the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, where he will engage with officials and assess the institutions’ capabilities. The minister’s visit is expected to identify areas for improvement and inform strategies for upgrading infrastructure and providing resources to military institutions.

 

In his remarks, Abubakar reaffirmed the government’s dedication to supporting the academy’s strategic objectives, citing its critical role in shaping the nation’s defence landscape. The commandant, Major General Ibrahim, commended the minister’s leadership, noting its positive impact on the academy’s operations and expressing gratitude for the government’s support
