Stop Studying Non-lucrative Courses, Odumeje Counsels Nigerians

Renowned Anambra-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, also known as Odumeje, has sparked controversy with his recent advice to prospective university students.

In a video that has gone viral, Odumeje cautioned against pursuing certain academic disciplines, labeling them as unproductive for individuals from humble backgrounds.

According to the charismatic cleric, fields such as political science, history, microbiology, library information science, and sociology are not viable options for those without influential connections.

Odumeje emphasized that such courses are unlikely to yield tangible benefits, particularly for students from less affluent families.

The prophet, known for his unconventional preaching style, suggested that alternative vocational training, such as barbering, might be a more practical choice. He stressed the importance of pursuing meaningful education that can lead to gainful employment, citing the high rate of unemployment among graduates as a consequence of misguided academic pursuits.

This is not the first time Odumeje has courted controversy with his statements. Recently, he expressed his intention to run for the Nigerian presidency in 2027, advocating for a youthful and digitally savvy leader to usher in a new era of progress.

Odumeje claimed that the country’s current leaders have failed to drive development due to their age and lack of vision.

In a sermon, the cleric proclaimed his potential candidacy, promising to introduce modern infrastructure and a digital lifestyle if elected. Odumeje’s announcement has generated significant attention on social media, with many awaiting his next move.

As a prominent figure, his words carry significant weight, and his future plans are likely to be closely watched by the public.
