Tinubu Has Done Well, We’ll Triple His 2023 Votes in 2027,. Assures Kebbi Governor
Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has performed excellently in office, vowing that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will triple the number of votes the president received in the 2023 presidential election when he seeks re-election in 2027.
The governor made the statement on Friday during a political event in Birnin Kebbi, where he addressed party supporters and stakeholders.
He described Tinubu’s leadership as bold and visionary, citing progress in various sectors as proof that the administration is delivering on its promises.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done well. He has taken bold steps to reposition Nigeria for long-term growth and prosperity.
“We in Kebbi, and indeed across the North-West, have seen the results of his leadership. By the grace of Almighty God, come 2027, we are not just going to repeat our support for him—we are going to triple the number of votes he got in 2023,” Governor Idris said.
The governor commended the president’s economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate, noting that while the measures were tough, they were essential to resetting the Nigerian economy.
He said that the long-term impact of these policies is beginning to show, especially in areas like agriculture, infrastructure, and foreign investment.
According to Idris, President Tinubu has demonstrated the political will needed to tackle Nigeria’s complex challenges and is laying the foundation for sustainable national development.
He also praised the federal government’s support for Kebbi State, particularly in boosting agricultural production and improving rural infrastructure.
Governor Idris urged members of the APC to remain united and focused, adding that the party’s base in the North-West remains strong and ready to deliver massive support for the president in the next general election.
He said that grassroots mobilization and early political engagement would be key to ensuring a decisive victory in 2027.
President Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election with over 8.7 million votes, defeating candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and other parties. Kebbi State was one of the states where the APC enjoyed significant support.
The governor’s comments come as the ruling party begins to consolidate its base amid ongoing national discourse over the state of the economy and governance.
While Tinubu’s policies have faced criticism in some quarters, several APC leaders have continued to voice confidence in his administration.
Governor Idris’s remarks signal growing political momentum within the APC as it begins laying the groundwork for the 2027 elections, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Tinubu’s leadership and vision for Nigeria.
