Soludo’s Wife Empowers 1,085 Women with N50,000 Each at Dunukofia

In a bid to support low-income traders, the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has empowered 1,085 female traders in Dunukofia Local Government Area with a cash grant of N50,000 each.
The empowerment programme, which held on Saturday at the Ukpo, Dunukofia LG headquarters, aimed to support petty traders, known as “Ndi afia table”, with the necessary funds to grow their businesses and sustain their families’ economic growth.
Speaking during the programme, Mrs. Soludo thanked the benefactors, Arthur Eze and Chief Jim Nwabueze, for their kindness and support for the empowerment programme. She urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely and apply due diligence to grow their businesses.
“The value of empowerment is not in the amount of money given, but in the effort and dedication you invest in growing your resources and becoming successful.
“We know that most of you are petty traders, but if you apply the funds we are giving you now to your business and apply due diligence, you will excel,” Mrs. Soludo said.
The empowerment programme is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts in human capital development, which include the employment of 8,115 teachers, over 1,000 health workers, digital training for more than 30,000 youths, and the ‘One Youth, Two Skills’ programme that has empowered 5,000 youths with a ₦2 billion fund.
The Chairman of Dunukofia LG, Chijioke Ozumba, commended the state government for including Dunukofia in its development roadmap, noting that the area remains one of the major beneficiaries of the current administration’s development master plan.
The empowerment programme was sponsored by notable sons of the LG, Arthur Eze and Chief Jim Nwabueze, with support from the local government administration.
The event is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the state government, local government, and private individuals to drive economic growth and development in the community.
With this empowerment programme, the beneficiaries are expected to experience a significant improvement in their economic well-being, which will in turn, contribute to the overall development of the state.
The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth and development of its citizens, and this programme is a step in the right direction.
As the community continues to benefit from the empowerment programme, it is expected that more families will be lifted out of poverty, and the local economy will experience a significant boost.
The state government has urged other communities to take a cue from Dunukofia and explore opportunities for economic growth and development.
