Former Environment Minister, Abdullahi Resigns from APC

Former Minister of Environment, Barrister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, has tendered his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former minister, Abdullahi submitted his resignation letter to the APC chairman in his Uke ward of Karu Local Government Area on June 1.
The letter, which was also copied to other party officials, cited personal reasons for his departure from the party.
The news of Abdullahi’s resignation has raised eyebrows within the state party, given his previous influence and substantial followership.
As a former Minister under President Muhammadu Buhari, Abdullahi has a notable track record in the state, having previously served as Secretary to the State Government under former Governor Tanko Almakura.
A close associate of the former minister, Mr. Samuel Akala, confirmed the decision to reporters in Lafia, hinting that Abdullahi may soon announce a new party affiliation.
“He may be looking to contest for the governorship of Nasarawa State in 2027,” Akala suggested.
In his resignation letter, Abdullahi expressed gratitude for the opportunities and support he received during his tenure with the APC. “I wish you and the party good luck,” the letter stated.
The resignation of Abdullahi is seen as a significant political move ahead of the 2027 general elections. His departure from the APC is likely to have implications for the party’s fortunes in Nasarawa State, where he has a substantial following.
As the political landscape continues to shift ahead of the 2027 elections, all eyes will be on Abdullahi’s next move. Will he join another party, and if so, which one?
Only time will tell. For now, the APC in Nasarawa State is left to ponder the implications of losing a high-profile member like Abdullahi.
