Tinubu Inaugurates 30 of 750 Kilometers Coastal Road

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned a 30km stretch of the 750km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, with renowned Nigerian author, Professor Wole Soyinka, in attendance.

At the event, which was shared on social media, Professor Soyinka expressed his admiration for the project, stating that he is “a sucker for new roads” and an “admirer of great things”.

The Nobel laureate took the opportunity to praise President Tinubu’s administration for its efforts in improving the lives of Nigerians through infrastructure development.

“I must commend the President for this great initiative. The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration is doing great things, and we must acknowledge and appreciate their efforts in ensuring good roads in our nation,” Soyinka said.

The Minister of State for Works, Mr. Bello Goronyo, also spoke at the event, highlighting the significance of the project and the President’s commitment to building a better future for all Nigerians. “The President is not only building infrastructure, but also laying a solid foundation for a better future for our country,” he said.

Goronyo also praised the President’s vision in taming the Atlantic Ocean and turning its menace into greatness through the coastal highway project.

He revealed that the President is overseeing three other legacy projects, including the 1,068km Sokoto-Badagry Highway, which passes through seven states.

The commissioning of the 30km stretch of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway marks a significant step towards completing the 750km project, which is expected to boost economic growth, improve transportation, and enhance the quality of life for millions of Nigerians.

With the attendance of distinguished guests like Professor Wole Soyinka, the event has generated widespread excitement and appreciation for the President’s infrastructure development efforts.

As the country continues to move forward, it is clear that the Tinubu administration is committed to leaving a lasting legacy in the area of infrastructure development.
