Offset Seeks Spousal Support from Cardi B Amid Divorce Battle

In the latest twist in their ongoing divorce proceedings, rapper, Offset has officially requested spousal support from his estranged wife, Grammy-winning artist Cardi B.

The development comes nearly a year after Cardi B filed for divorce, signaling the end of their high-profile and often turbulent marriage.

Offset, whose legal name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, filed an amended response in the Los Angeles Superior Court, seeking financial support from Cardi B. While the filing did not disclose the specific amount Offset is requesting, the move has generated widespread media attention and debate among fans of the celebrity couple.

In addition to requesting spousal support, Offset is also seeking joint legal custody of their three children: Kulture, Wave, and their youngest, Blossom, who was born in 2023. Despite the request for shared legal responsibilities, Offset has proposed that the children’s primary residence remain with Cardi B.

This gesture may reflect an attempt to balance co-parenting duties while recognizing Cardi’s current living arrangements and stability for the children.

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, has responded to Offset’s spousal support demand with visible frustration. Speaking during a recent live session on X Spaces (formerly Twitter Spaces), Cardi told fans that she intentionally did not request child support in her initial divorce filing because she wanted a clean and respectful break.

“I didn’t ask for no child support because I want to be done with this marriage,” she stated. “I just want peace and to move forward. I didn’t want it to be messy.”

Her comments have since gone viral, with fans and pundits weighing in on the possible motivations behind Offset’s legal counter-request.

Cardi B and Offset married in secret in 2017 and publicly confirmed their union months later. Over the years, their relationship has faced several ups and downs, including public allegations of infidelity, brief separations, reconciliations, and a joint parenting journey that fans have followed closely.

Cardi initially filed for divorce in July 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences,” and although there were brief rumors of a reconciliation late last year, the separation appears to be final this time.

The divorce proceedings are still ongoing, and both parties will likely appear in court later this year to settle the terms, including finances and custody arrangements. Legal analysts note that Offset’s request for spousal support could hinge on both artists’ income disclosures, business assets, and existing prenuptial agreements—if any exist.

As one of hip-hop’s most high-profile couples, the divorce between Cardi B and Offset continues to capture public attention—not just for its celebrity drama but for the larger conversation it sparks about family dynamics, co-parenting, and financial entitlements in modern marriages.
