Nigerian Footballer Mourns Loss of Parents, Announces Funeral Plans

Stanley Nwabali, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, is currently going through a difficult times as he prepares to lay his parents to rest.

 

Chief Nwabali Godspower Onyekamu and his wife, Mrs. Grace Nwabali (née Mmai), passed away, leaving their son in a state of immense sorrow.

 

The footballer took to social media to express his emotions, describing the pain of losing his parents as unbearable.

 

He shared a poster announcing the funeral arrangements, which will take place over three days, starting from June 5, 2025.

 

The ceremony will begin with a Service of Songs at the late Chief’s residence in Okwuzi Egbema, Rivers State. The following day, June 6, the body of Mrs. Grace Nwabali will be taken to her father’s compound and then to her husband’s residence, where she will be laid out for viewing.

 

On June 7, the final rites will be held, starting with the departure of Chief Nwabali Godspower’s remains from the mortuary to his maternal home. He will then be received by the Okwuzi Council of Chiefs before being laid to rest at his residence.

 

The funeral will be followed by a reception at CPS Okwuzi Egbema.

 

Chief Nwabali Godspower Onyekamu was 72 years old at the time of his passing, while his wife, Mrs. Grace Nwabali, was 63. The family has invited friends and loved ones to pay their respects to the deceased on June 6 and 7, and has expressed gratitude to all who have offered their condolences. Stanley Nwabali and his family appreciate the support during this challenging time.
