Fubara to Resume Office As Negotiations Record Progress

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has declared his forthcoming return to his official duties, signaling a pivotal move toward resolving the political turmoil within the state.
Fubara conveyed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his prompt intervention, which he believes thwarted potential chaos in the region.
During a gathering with leaders and stakeholders of the Simplified Movement in Port Harcourt, Fubara assured that the peace and reconciliation efforts are in progress, setting the stage for the reinstatement of executive and legislative institutions and offices.
He implored supporters and all residents of Rivers State to commend President Tinubu for his decisive actions and to commit themselves to the peace initiative.
Fubara underscored the significance of forgiveness and reconciliation, declaring, “What is essential is for us to embrace a forgiving spirit.” He expressed his appreciation to the President for his involvement and acknowledged personalities nationwide who advocated for his participation.
The Governor remarked that the second-year celebrations would have highlighted key achievements of his administration, yet the political climate impeded this.
He assured that the government will emerge stronger and more unified, delivering substantial democratic benefits to the populace.
Fubara conveyed his gratitude to President Tinubu for restoring peace and stability in the state and hinted at an impending reconciliation with former Governor and current FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, stating, “There will be peace. We are meeting. We will reconcile.”
