Fleeing Obieze, Enugu Native Doctor Who Buried Victims Alive Handed Over to Police

The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service has transferred a high-profile crime suspect, Obi Levi Obieze, also known as Levi Obu Onyeka, to the Lagos State Police Command for further interrogation. This move was disclosed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, via a social media platform.
Obieze’s arrest occurred on May 29, 2025, when immigration operatives apprehended him at a checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme Road as he attempted to escape the country on a motorcycle.
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, revealed that Obieze’s capture was made possible by reliable intelligence linking him to a series of heinous crimes, including the abduction and alleged ritual killing of a 13-year-old girl in Enugu State’s Isiagu Community.
According to ACI AS Akinlabi, the Service Public Relations Officer, Obieze is a native doctor from Umuajor village in Enugu and was wanted by the Enugu State Police Command for his alleged involvement in the abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killing. Reports indicate that Obieze, along with two accomplices, abducted the young victim on May 27, 2025, while she was walking with her father to their farm.
The girl was later rescued from a shrine allegedly connected to Obieze.
The Nigeria Immigration Service was able to confirm Obieze’s identity through a National Identity Management Commission enrollment slip found in his possession.
During initial questioning, Obieze reportedly confessed to the crimes, providing valuable insights into the case.
With his transfer to the Lagos State Police Command, authorities are hopeful that further investigation will shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the alleged crimes.
