Air Force Strikes Pulverise Boko Haram Stronghold in Borno, Scores Killed

In a major operational success, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a series of airstrikes on Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State, killing scores of insurgents and destroying their stronghold in the region.
According to a statement released by the NAF on Friday, the air mission was carried out in the early hours of the morning, targeting fleeing Boko Haram elements in Bita, a known insurgent enclave in the North-East.
The coordinated air assault, conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, marks a significant milestone in efforts to degrade the operational capacity of the terrorists threatening national security in the region.
“The Nigerian Air Force through the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, has recorded a major operational success against Boko Haram terrorists.
“In the early hours of today, NAF combat aircraft carried out precision airstrikes on fleeing terrorists in Bita, Borno State, neutralising scores of insurgents in what has been described as one of the most decisive blows against the group in recent times,” the statement read.
The NAF stated that the operation was executed under the cover of darkness, with ground forces subsequently commencing clearance and exploitation operations to consolidate on the gains achieved from the successful air strikes.
The Director of Public Relations and Information at the NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation represents a major leap in ongoing efforts to dismantle the operational capabilities of terrorist elements undermining national security in the North East.
The NAF has reassured Nigerians of its unwavering commitment to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and protecting law-abiding citizens.
“All necessary measures are being taken to ensure that terrorist elements have no safe haven anywhere within the country,” the statement added.
This latest development is seen as a significant boost to the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North-East, and a major setback for the Boko Haram terrorist group.
The NAF’s success in destroying the terrorist stronghold and killing scores of insurgents is expected to degrade the group’s operational capacity and bring relief to communities in the region.
