Busari Backs Rosiji: APC Unite in Ojokoro LGA Race

The pioneer legislative leader of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area and a front runner in the Lagos local government election, Hon. Busari Nosiru, has officially handed over his entire political structure to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Barr. Mrs. Rosiji Oluyemisi, in a symbolic and strategic move to strengthen party unity and affirm loyalty to the party’s supremacy.
In a show of solidarity at the campaign office of the party flagbearer, and before a mammoth crowd of hundreds of his supporters, the grassroots mobilizer declared his full support for Rosiji, stating that leadership is about service, not personal ambition.
Hon. Busari thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his enduring sacrifices and commitment to democratic values in Nigeria, recalling how it took the president 20 years after leaving office to ascend to the highest seat of power, yet he remained a firm architect of Nigeria’s modern democracy.
“The emancipation of Ojokoro politics has been achieved, and it is not necessary that leadership must begin with me,” Busari said. “I have submitted myself to party supremacy and hope for the best in the nearest future.”
He continued, “I started as a councillor in 1998 and served as a pioneer leader of Ojokoro LCDA—a creation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2003. I was also a pioneer Supervisor for Education, among other roles. I started early, and I have risen through the ranks. It is on this premise that I, and the leadership of my campaign team, deem it fit to submit all our members and loyal followers to the party candidate, and provide her with the manpower needed to record a landslide victory come July 12th, 2025.”
Busari emphasized the historic nature of Rosiji’s candidacy: “This is the first time Ojokoro will be fielding a female candidate for chairmanship, and we must help her to achieve all her goals for the local government. We have pledged our loyalty, dedication, and support to her, and she will find us as loyal disciples.”
Responding to the gesture, APC chairmanship candidate Barr. Rosiji Oluyemisi was visibly moved and expressed deep appreciation for the magnanimity of Hon. Busari and his team.
“This is beyond human comprehension, but it shows what a faithful personality Hon. Busari is,” she said. “I commend and appreciate you. Your followers shall be treated warmly and without discrimination. You shall not regret the decision you took today.”
She recalled their longstanding relationship, noting that Busari’s late wife was like a sister to her, and the bond between their families remains strong. “You were at the forefront of the liberation of Ojokoro LCDA, and I promise that your reward will not elude you, in Jesus’ name,” she added.
The high point of the event was the symbolic gesture where supporters removed Busari-branded caps and insignias, replacing them with ‘Rosiji Idunu Ojokoro’ caps. The ceremony also featured the official presentation of the BYN campaign membership list, face caps, and other campaign materials to Barr. Rosiji by the chairman of the BYN Campaign Organization, Hon. Abdoulazziz Kolawole Osho.
