We’ve Made Irreversible Strides in Aviation Sector Under President Tinubu- Festus Keyamo

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has shed light on the significant strides being made in Nigeria’s aviation sector under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Minister Keyamo, the federal government has championed bold reforms in the aviation sector, including the implementation of open skies agreements with other airlines.

This move is expected to boost the country’s international relationships and increase air travel connectivity.

Additionally, Nigeria is celebrating a milestone – 100 years of aviation in the country.

The minister also revealed plans to expand Nigeria’s aviation capabilities, enabling direct flights from Nigeria to South America.

This development is anticipated to strengthen the country’s ties with South American nations and provide more travel options for Nigerians.

The Minister also talked about the recent Nimet strikes in which some airlines still flew during the strike. He was asked if those airlines will face sanctions for their actions because Nimet provide weather conditions for the airlines to ensure they fly in safe weather conditions, But he said they wouldn’t since different airlines have their safety conditions of when they seem fit to fly and they all abided by it and so there wasn’t any ground to sanction those airlines.

He emphasized that if there was a “no safety”condition to fly, that under this administration no airline would have flown because the Tinubu led administration cares about the lives and safety of Nigerians first.

In a separate development, Minister Keyamo commented on the recent defection of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Keyamo hailed the governor’s decision, describing him as a “shining light” and a valuable addition to the APC.

The minister emphasized that the APC is a large and inclusive party, capable of accommodating individuals from diverse backgrounds.

He stated that the party’s primary goal is to ensure the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027, allowing him to continue his “renewed hope” mandate, which began in 2023.

Keyamo described the governor’s defection as a significant win for the APC, particularly given Delta State’s history as a stronghold of the PDP since 1999.

He expressed his belief that this development would guarantee the APC’s victory in both the state and presidential elections in Delta State come 2027.

In related news, the APC has welcomed Governor Oborevwori’s decision, praising his courage and vision in joining the party. The governor’s defection is seen as a significant coup for the APC, which is seeking to consolidate its hold on power in Nigeria.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, one thing is clear – the APC is poised to make significant gains in the upcoming elections, and the minister’s comments have set the tone for an exciting and unpredictable political season ahead.
