The FIRS Procurement Department is Now Reopened

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Procurement Department, located at No. 14 Sakode Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, has reopened after being temporarily shut down.

A media investigation conducted by Unfiltered Reporting aimed to confirm whether the FIRS office, previously closed by the FCDA, had reopened. This followed a tweet from TA New Media to the FIRS Chairman, claiming that the office, which had been closed over a rent dispute with the FCDA, was now operational again following a resolution of the issue. This prompted our team to investigate the situation further to ascertain if the reopening took place yesterday.

Our findings indicated that while the exit gate at No. 14 Sokode Crescent was indeed open for exit, the entrance remained sealed, preventing entry. This suggests that TA Media’s tweet was not entirely accurate—the office had only fully reopened the following morning, May 27, not the day before.

The FIRS Media Team issued a statement confirming that they had provided proof of their non-indebtedness to the FCTA. “Following a thorough investigation, it was verified that the FIRS had settled all outstanding rent and owed nothing to the FCDA,” the statement noted.

The reopening occurred after officials confirmed no rent was owed.

The reopening of the FIRS Procurement Department is a positive step, allowing the agency to resume its essential role in bolstering the country’s economy. This incident underscores the need for effective communication and cooperation among government agencies to prevent disruptions to essential services.

The department reopened on May 27 after a brief closure due to a dispute over land dealings and ownership. This situation was resolved when the FIRS provided evidence confirming it had no rent obligations to the FCDA.

The reopening event was attended by senior FIRS officials and other key stakeholders, who reaffirmed their dedication to serving the nation and collecting government revenue.

Stakeholders have welcomed the reopening, expressing relief at the resolution of the dispute. “It’s great that the issue has been settled, allowing the FIRS to continue its vital work for the nation’s economy,” remarked one stakeholder.

The incident has also emphasized the necessity of effective communication and collaboration among government agencies to prevent unnecessary interruptions in critical services. “The reopening of the FIRS Procurement Department highlights the benefits of teamwork and effective communication among government bodies,” stated another stakeholder.

The reopening is expected to have significant positive effects on the nation’s economy, as the FIRS plays a key role in government revenue collection, and its operations are vital to the economic infrastructure.

In conclusion, the reopening of the FIRS Procurement Department is highly anticipated, enabling the agency to persist in its crucial work supporting the economy. This situation acts as a reminder of the importance of communication and collaboration within government to avoid interruptions in essential services. The FIRS has reiterated its commitment to serving the nation and collecting revenue on behalf of the government, and stakeholders have expressed their satisfaction with the office’s reopening.
