First Lady Gifts N25 Million to Okeke, Autistic Boy who Won Guineas World Records

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has presented a grant of ₦25 million to Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo Okeke, a 15-year-old autistic artist who recently achieved a Guinness World Record for creating the largest art canvas.
Kanyeyachukwu’s remarkable feat, which took place in November 2024, involved designing a massive painting that spanned 12,304 square meters, featuring a vibrant ribbon symbolizing autism, surrounded by colorful emojis. This outstanding achievement has garnered widespread recognition and admiration.
During the meeting, Senator Tinubu expressed her deep appreciation for Kanyeyachukwu’s exceptional talent and perseverance, despite the challenges he faces.
She emphasized the importance of nurturing the skills and abilities of children with special needs, encouraging parents to focus on their strengths and provide support to help them thrive.
The First Lady, who has authored a book to raise awareness about autism, highlighted the need for greater understanding and acceptance of mental health challenges.
She praised Kanyeyachukwu’s parents for their unwavering love and dedication, which has enabled him to excel in his artistic pursuits.
Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, who was represented by Dr. Mukhtar Yawale Muhammed, commended Senator Tinubu for her tireless efforts in empowering young Nigerians through her Renewed Hope Initiative.
