UK Conservatives Plot to Replace Loud Mouthed Kemi Badenoch with Boris Johnson

Senior Conservative officials are meticulously crafting a strategy to supplant Kemi Badenoch with Boris Johnson, the erstwhile Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, as the party’s leader.
The UK’s Sun divulged the particulars on Sunday.
This maneuver follows the Conservatives’ forfeiture of 674 council seats in the May 1 local elections, constituting two-thirds of what the party was defending.
Reform UK, a competing party, secured 677 council seats.
One opinion poll positioned the Conservatives in fourth place, trailing Reform, Labour, and the Liberal Democrats.
The Conservatives’ dramatic defeat occurred a week subsequent to a precipitous decline in the party’s poll ratings, leaving officials exasperated and concocting a scheme to oust Badenoch.
The polls suggested that Badenoch has underperformed, concentrating on misguided priorities during her six-month tenure as party leader.
“We keep sharpening our knives and putting them back down again. Things are pretty grim,” The Sun quoted a Conservative official as saying.
The discontent arises as Reform UK garners heightened popularity, establishing the party as the newly favored right-wing faction.
Earlier this month, a separate poll revealed that Johnson is the Conservative Party’s most promising contender against Nigel Farage, Reform’s leader, in the elections.
Johnson ascended to the UK premiership in 2019, following his roles as Mayor of London and Foreign Secretary.
He was compelled to resign in July 2022 after a succession of scandals.
The former Prime Minister contemplated a comeback after Liz Truss, his successor, was similarly compelled to step down, but was superseded by Rishi Sunak.
Under party regulations, Badenoch’s position cannot be contested until 12 months after she assumed the Conservative leadership, implying a potential challenge in November.
Nonetheless, officials are deliberating alternative strategies, including a widespread call for resignation by members of the shadow cabinet.
Other candidates being considered as potential successors to Badenoch include Robert Jenrick, Shadow Justice Secretary, and Laura Trott, Shadow Education Secretary.
