Explosion Rocks Abuja Bus Stop, One Person Injured

 

 

A powerful explosion occurred on Monday afternoon at a bus stop along the Mararaba-Nyanya bypass in Abuja, leaving one person injured.

 

The blast, which happened at approximately 2:50 pm, sent shockwaves through the area and caused widespread panic among commuters and residents.

 

According to a statement released by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, the explosion was reported to the authorities, and a team of officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit was immediately deployed to the scene. The affected area was swiftly cordoned off to ensure the safety of commuters and residents, and a thorough clearance and analysis were conducted to determine the cause of the explosion.

 

The police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that one male victim was rescued at the scene and taken to the hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention.

 

The extent of his injuries is not yet known, but authorities say he is stable and undergoing treatment.
