Sokoto Indigene Abducted by Terrorists Rescued by Police

 

The Nigeria Police Force has rescued a 23-year-old indigene of Sokoto State who was abducted by terrorists and held captive for 8 days.

 

The victim, who was kidnapped from Gatawa village in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, was rescued by police operatives in Niger State on May 22.

 

According to a statement released by the Police Spokesman, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, the victim was found wandering around the forest by men of the 12PMF stationed at Mararaban Dan-daudu Pin-down point at about 11am. After questioning, the victim was taken to Gwada Division for further interview, where he revealed the shocking details of his abduction.

 

The victim told police that he was kidnapped along with his father from their village in Sokoto State.

 

He spent 8 harrowing days in captivity, subjected to unknown conditions and treatment by his terrorist abductors.

 

The police spokesperson confirmed that the victim has been reunited with his family and is currently receiving medical attention and counseling to help him recover from his traumatic ordeal.

 

The rescue operation is a significant achievement for the Nigeria Police Force, which has been working tirelessly to combat terrorism and kidnapping in the region.
