Radda Condemns Bandit Attack that Claimed 5 Community Security Personnel 

 

 

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has strongly condemned the recent bandit attack that resulted in the deaths of five Community Security Watch Corps personnel in Maharba village, Matazu Local Government Area.

 

The Governor led a high-level security delegation to the scene of the attack to assess the situation and pay his respects to the fallen security operatives.

 

The attack, which occurred on Saturday, claimed the life of Community Watch Commander, Mallam Sanusi, and four of his men who were on a reinforcement mission to respond to intelligence about a large number of bandits approaching villages in Matazu LGA.

 

The security team was ambushed by approximately 20 bandits on motorcycles who had concealed themselves in mango trees near a major stream.

 

Speaking during his visit to the scene, Governor Radda expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and assured them that the state government would do everything in its power to bring the perpetrators to justice.

 

He also vowed to intensify security efforts in the state to prevent such attacks from happening in the future.

 

“We will not rest until we have rid our state of these bandits and ensured the safety of our citizens. We will work closely with security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for this heinous attack and bring them to justice,” the Governor said.

 

The Governor’s delegation, which included top security officials, was led to the incident scene by the Matazu Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya.

 

The team conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the scene and met with local residents to gather more information about the attack.

 

According to eyewitnesses, the bandits had set the security team’s Hilux vehicle ablaze during the attack, and it was still smoldering when the Governor arrived at the scene.

 

The attack has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with many residents expressing fear and concern about the growing insecurity in the area.

 

The Katsina State Government has promised to provide support to the families of the deceased and to work with security agencies to prevent similar attacks from happening in the future.

 

The government has also called on residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

 

Security agencies in Katsina State have vowed to intensify their efforts to combat banditry and other forms of insecurity in the state.

 

The agencies, including the police and military, have promised to work closely with the state government and local communities to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

 

“We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to bring the perpetrators of this attack to justice. We urge residents to remain calm and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities,” said a spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command.

 

The attack on the Community Security Watch Corps personnel is the latest in a series of bandit attacks in Katsina State, which has been plagued by insecurity in recent years. The state government has promised to do everything in its power to address the issue and ensure the safety of its citizens.

 

Residents of Maharba village and surrounding communities have called on the state government to increase the security presence in the area to prevent similar attacks from happening in the future.

 

The residents, who are still reeling from the shock of the attack, have expressed fear and concern about the growing insecurity in the area.

 

“We need more security personnel in our community to protect us from these bandits. We cannot continue to live in fear of being attacked at any moment. The government must do something to address this issue,” said a resident of Maharba village.
