Nigerian Army Route Bandits, Recover Arms, Gadgets in Significant Victory

Katsina State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr Nasiru Mu’azu Danmusa, has announced a major triumph by the 17 Brigade Strike Group of the Nigerian Army.

The military operation, code-named Operation Forest Sanity III, resulted in the elimination of 21 bandits in Shawu Forest, located at Ruwan Godiya Ward in the Faskari Local Government Area.

According to Dr Danmusa, the troops launched a deliberate attack on a terrorist enclave, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle.

The intensity of the assault forced the terrorists to flee, using their livestock as shields, but the soldiers pursued them relentlessly.

Governor Dikko Radda has commended the bravery and professionalism of the troops, praising their unwavering commitment to restoring peace and stability to the affected communities.

The operation yielded a significant haul of weapons and equipment, including a General Purpose Machine Gun, five AK-47 rifles, and various ammunition.

Other items recovered include 21 AK-47 magazines, 17 Motorola Communication radios, and several handheld radios.

The military also seized 40 motorcycles and a large number of rustled cattle.
