NDLEA Intercepts Drug Shipment Disguised as Plantain Chips at Lagos Airport

In a shocking discovery, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have foiled an attempt to smuggle illicit drugs into the country through a cleverly disguised shipment at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

According to Femi Babafemi, the agency’s Public Relations Officer, the drugs were concealed within packages labeled as plantain chips.

The consignment, which was intercepted by vigilant NDLEA officers, was found to contain a skunk, a street name for a type of cannabis.

Babafemi took to his X account on Sunday to announce the seizure, warning Nigerians to be cautious when accepting packages for travel.

“Always be careful of what you’re given to travel with!” he cautioned.
