Makinde Support Group Roots for PDP Presidential Nomination

The Brave New Vision Support Group, a coalition of supporters mobilizing for Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West region to ensure he gets the nomination for 2027 presidency.

The group is urging party faithful to throw their weight behind Governor Makinde as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2027 election.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Lagos, Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, Convener and chieftain of the PDP, emphasized the importance of unity and mobilization within the party.

Pearse appealed to the newly inaugurated Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe-led South-West PDP Zonal Executive Committee to prioritize the task of ensuring Makinde’s emergence as the party’s presidential candidate.

“The primary objective of any political party is to win elections so that it can implement its policies to improve the quality of life for the electorate.

“At this point in time, as we enter the 2027 election cycle, the main task ahead of Ajisafe and his committee is to unite the South-West PDP political family. We must strengthen our structures in preparation for electoral victory at all levels of government,” Pearse said.

Pearse reiterated that Governor Makinde remains the party’s best bet for the 2027 presidential election, citing his impressive track record as a leader and his commitment to the values of the PDP.

“Makinde remains our best product for PDP in 2027 presidential election. We must work towards actualising this project,” he said.

The Brave New Vision Support Group is calling on the zonal executive committee to collaborate with all regions and mobilize support for Makinde’s candidacy.

“The zonal exco must hit the ground running and start collaborating and mobilising all regions behind Makinde to liberate the masses,” Pearse urged.

This development comes as the PDP prepares for the 2027 general elections, with the party seeking to regain power at the federal level.

The South-West region is expected to play a crucial role in the party’s fortunes, and the support group is keen to ensure that Governor Makinde is well-positioned to lead the party to victory.
