Edo APC Appoints Two New State Officers Amid Party Restructuring

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has appointed two new state officers as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s leadership structure and enhance internal coordination ahead of future political engagements.

The announcement was made on Saturday by the state chairman of the party, Jarret Tenebe, during a press briefing held at the APC state secretariat in Benin City.

While the names and specific portfolios of the appointees were not immediately disclosed, Tenebe noted that the appointments are part of broader reforms aimed at repositioning the party for victory in the 2024 governorship election and other key political contests.

“The APC in Edo State is undergoing necessary restructuring to ensure we are better prepared to serve our members and the people of Edo. These new appointments reflect our commitment to building a more robust and responsive leadership,” Tenebe stated.

The development follows a recent shakeup in the Edo State House of Assembly where the APC, now holding the majority, appointed Hon. Jonathan Aigbokhan (Esan West Constituency) as Majority Leader, Hon. Addeh Isibor as Deputy Majority Leader, and Hon. Mustapha Lucky as Chief Whip.

Party insiders suggest the new appointments are intended to fill critical gaps within the state executive and to bolster grassroots mobilization in the lead-up to the next electoral cycle.

The Edo APC leadership has urged members to remain united and focused as the party works to reclaim control of the state government and restore what it described as “progressive governance.
