PDP Will Not Collapse, Says Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro

The Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not collapse, despite its current crisis and loss of members.

 

Moro expressed confidence that the PDP will bounce back stronger from its current challenges and continue to grow.

 

Speaking in Jos, Plateau State, during the party’s North Central Zonal Elective Congress, Moro stated that the PDP will continue to grow stronger with the election of new zonal executives.

 

He emphasized that the party’s activities, including the North Central zonal elective congress, are part of a series of events leading up to the National Convention for the election of a new party leadership.He underscored that the party’s undertakings, encompassing the North Central zonal elective congress, are integral to a succession of events culminating in the National Convention for the election of a new party leadership.

 

Moro attributed the apparent crisis in the party to a leadership struggle, but expressed confidence that the PDP will emerge stronger from the crisis.

 

He noted that the party is undergoing a process of renewal, with new leaders being elected from the ward to the local government, state, and zonal levels,Moro attributed the perceived crisis within the party to a leadership contest, yet he conveyed assurance that the PDP will emerge more robust from this turmoil.

 

He observed that the party is undergoing a rejuvenation process, with fresh leaders being elected from the ward to the local government, state, and zonal tiers. ultimately leading to the National Convention.

 

The Benue South Senator also expressed confidence that Nigeria will not become a one-party state, despite the defections from the PDPThe Senator representing Benue South conveyed his assurance that Nigeria will not evolve into a one-party state, notwithstanding the defections from the PDP. Moro stated that while defections can have a ripple effect, the PDP will regroup, recommit, and rededicate themselves to the cause.

 

“I have no fear of Nigeria becoming a one-party state. Not at all. I don’t believe that’s a likely outcome. Yes, defections have a ripple effect, and the initial shock can be significant.
