Youth Coalition Launches COSONYGA-2027 to Back Tinubu’s Re-Election Bid
A new political movement, the Coalition of Southern Nigeria Youth Groups for Asiwaju 2027 (COSONYGA-2027), was officially launched in Abuja on Thursday, with a call on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
The group, a coalition of youth organizations drawn from across the southern region of Nigeria, said it was committed to mobilizing young Nigerians in support of Tinubu’s second-term ambition, citing his leadership style and ongoing reforms as reasons for their endorsement.
A Youth-Driven Mandate
Speaking at the launch event, leaders of the coalition emphasized the role of the youth in shaping Nigeria’s political future.
They described the COSONYGA-2027 initiative as a platform to unite young people across the southern states under a common vision of continuity and national development.
“We are here to declare our total support for President Tinubu’s re-election.
His administration has initiated critical reforms, and we believe he needs another term to consolidate on these gains,” said the group’s national coordinator.
The coalition revealed plans to roll out state-by-state awareness campaigns, town hall meetings, and voter engagement programs in the coming months.
According to the organizers, the focus will be on encouraging youth participation in politics while promoting the achievements of the Tinubu administration.
Participants at the launch included youth leaders, political stakeholders, and representatives from various civil society groups. They expressed optimism that the movement would gain traction across the country as the 2027 election approaches.

COSONYGA-2027 is positioning itself as one of the earliest youth-focused political movements to formally endorse a 2027 presidential candidate.
