Lagos Government Shuts Down Cubana Chief Priest’s Restaurant

The Lagos State Government has sealed off DONALD Restaurant, owned by popular nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, for environmental violations.

The restaurant, located in Lekki, was shut down after two staff members were caught dumping refuse by the roadside.

According to the Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the incident was reported by the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) on May 18, 2025.

A white Ford van with Abuja registration plates was caught discharging waste illegally, and the vehicle was traced back to the restaurant.

The staff members were apprehended and attempted to bribe the security team with ₦100,000, but the offer was rejected. LAWMA’s Monitoring and Compliance Team sealed the premises for gross environmental violations, and the suspects will be prosecuted in line with the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017.

Gbadegesin emphasized LAWMA’s commitment to enforcing environmental regulations and urged residents and businesses to adhere to proper waste management practices. “A clean and livable city is everyone’s responsibility,” he stressed.
