Falana vs. VeryDarkMan: Deeone Shares Update as Court Dismisses VDM’s Preliminary Objection

Nigerian comedian Deeone has shared fresh updates on the legal battle between controversial social media figure VeryDarkMan (VDM) and the Falana family, stating that the case has taken a decisive turn in favour of the latter.

In a video circulating on Instagram, Deeone revealed that the court has officially dismissed a preliminary objection filed by VDM’s legal team. According to him, the objection was an attempt by VDM’s lawyers to have the case struck out without proceeding to trial a move that the court has now rejected.

“VDM’s lawyers, they’ve been begging the court for a long time. Today, they have dismissed their preliminary objection… they don’t dismiss the begging, say ‘I beg, I beg,” Deeone said in the video.

Deeone further explained that VDM was previously given the opportunity to retract his controversial statements believed to be the basis of the defamation case but chose to proceed to court instead.

“You had the opportunity when you got the letter to retract your statement, but you said no, you want to go to court. So now, the case just won’t start properly now,” he added.

The social media personality suggested that the trial is now set to move forward, with judgment expected within the next three to four months.

He also expressed confidence that the outcome appears to be tilting in favour of the Falana family.

“It’s looking very good, of course, on the side of the Falanas. And I just wanted to let you guys know that everywhere good,” Deeone concluded.

The case has attracted significant attention on social media, given VeryDarkMan’s controversial online presence and past legal encounters. Neither VDM nor his legal team has publicly responded to Deeone’s remarks as of the time of filing this report.

Nigerians now await the next phase of the case as proceedings continue in court.
