It’s Tinubu for Second Term, Says North-West APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North-West zone has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement was made during the APC North-West Zone Stakeholders Meeting, held in Kaduna on Saturday.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abas, moved the motion for the endorsement of President Tinubu, which was seconded by Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris. The motion passed with a vote of confidence in the President, paving the way for his re-election bid in 2027.
A communique was read by Kaduna State Governor and APC North-West Co-ordinating Governor, Senator Uba Sani, on behalf of stakeholders from the zone.
The communique highlighted the party’s commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s re-election bid and outlined the zone’s expectations for the upcoming elections.
In a reciprocal gesture, all APC governors in the North-West zone were offered an automatic ticket for a second term in the 2027 governorship elections.
This move is seen as a show of appreciation for their support and a strategy to maintain the party’s stronghold in the region.
The party leaders, including National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, governors of Kaduna, Jigawa, and Kebbi, as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Minister, and party executives, all declared their support for President Tinubu.
The gathering was attended by other prominent party faithful, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Minister of Budget and National Planning Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, and Minister of Environment Balarabe Abbas Lawal.
