Umahi, Criticizes Labour Party, its Supporters

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has launched a scathing attack on the Labour Party and its supporters, who are largely followers of the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Umahi made the comments while presenting his ministry’s performance at the Ministerial Press Briefing in Abuja on Friday.

Umahi stated that he does not want to be like the “disobedient” members of the Labour Party, instead choosing to commend his colleagues in the Ministry of Works, including the Minister of State, Permanent Secretary, and Directors.

He reserved his greatest praise for President Bola Tinubu, whom he credited with commencing the Sokoto-Badagry road project, a concept that was first conceived by former President Shehu Shagari 47 years ago.

Umahi lauded President Tinubu for his vision and courage in embarking on the Sokoto-Badagry road project, which he described as a “dream” of the Shagari administration.

He noted that the project was originally intended to be called the Badagry-Sokoto road, but was renamed by President Tinubu to reflect a more detribalized approach.

Umahi praised President Tinubu for his performance since assuming office in May 2023, highlighting his courage and vision in undertaking ambitious projects like the Sokoto-Badagry road.

He described President Tinubu as a “man with great courage and the power of dreams” who is capable of engaging in such a massive project.
