Casualties Mount as Israeli Strikes Kill 28 in Gaza

A devastating series of Israeli strikes on Tuesday has resulted in the deaths of at least 28 people in the Gaza Strip, according to the territory’s civil defence agency.
The attacks targeted the area surrounding the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, a densely populated region in southern Gaza.
The Israeli military claimed that the strikes were aimed at a Hamas “command and control centre” in the area, but the high number of civilian casualties has raised concerns about the proportionality of the response.
The European Hospital, which is located near the site of the strikes, is a major medical facility that provides critical care to the local population.
The Gaza civil defence agency reported that rescue teams are still searching for survivors and recovering bodies from the rubble, and the death toll is expected to rise. The agency also warned of a growing humanitarian crisis in the territory, where medical supplies and emergency services are already stretched to the limit.
The Israeli military has been conducting a series of airstrikes and ground operations in Gaza in recent days, citing the need to target Hamas militants and infrastructure.
However, the high number of civilian casualties has sparked international condemnation and calls for restraint.
The United Nations and other humanitarian organizations have expressed deep concern about the escalating violence in Gaza, which has already claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians, including women and children.
The international community is urging all parties to exercise restraint and to prioritize the protection of civilians and medical facilities.
