Cultism, Yahoo Yahoo, and Social Media Abuse Blamed for Mass UTME Failures

A staggering 1.5 million candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) failed to meet the required standards, and according to the South West Secretary of the Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV), Prince Gbemisola Obadeyi, the root cause of this mass failure can be attributed to cultism, internet fraud, also known as Yahoo Yahoo, and social media abuse.
Prince Obadeyi, in a recent statement, expressed concern over the alarming rate of failure among UTME candidates, citing the negative influence of cultism, internet fraud, and social media abuse as major contributing factors. He emphasized that the distraction and corrupting influence of these vices have led many students down a path of academic underachievement and failure.
The POCACOV secretary warned that the consequences of cultism, Yahoo Yahoo, and social media abuse go beyond just academic failure, as they can also lead to a range of social and moral problems, including violence, crime, and addiction.
He called on parents, educators, and community leaders to join forces in combating these vices and promoting a culture of academic excellence and moral integrity among young people.
The mass failure of UTME candidates has sparked widespread concern and debate over the state of education in the country, with many calling for urgent reforms and interventions to address the root causes of the problem.
As the nation grapples with the challenges of cultism, Yahoo Yahoo, and social media abuse, it remains to be seen what measures will be taken to address the issue and ensure that future generations of students are better equipped to succeed academically and morally.
