Primate Ayodele Warns Peter Obi’s Presidency Will Lead to War, Declares Tinubu as Divine Choice
Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, the spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a strong prophetic warning concerning Nigeria’s political future, declaring that tragedy could strike the nation if Peter Obi becomes president.
Speaking during an interview with the Sunday Tribune on May 11, 2025, at his church headquarters in Lagos, Primate Ayodele asserted that only President Bola Tinubu is divinely endorsed to lead Nigeria, despite acknowledging that he may face political challenges.
“Let me be clear: if Nigerians vote for Peter Obi, tragedy will strike this nation. If they vote for Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria will collapse. As surprising as it may seem, Tinubu the same Tinubu is the one to vote for. That’s the truth,” he declared.
Known for his controversial and detailed prophecies, Primate Ayodele regularly releases predictions through his annual publication, Warnings to the Nations, and is often in the spotlight for his politically charged messages.
The cleric’s statement has since gained traction on social media, stirring intense reactions among political supporters and critics alike.
Supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and a popular figure among reformist movements, have described the prophecy as “divisive and incendiary,” while others argue it reflects growing tension between spiritual narratives and democratic ideals.
Ayodele, however, insists that his pronouncements are not politically motivated but divinely inspired messages intended to guide the nation and prevent catastrophe.
As Nigeria heads toward the next general elections in 2027, the influence of spiritual leaders like Primate Ayodele on public opinion and electoral politics remains a significant factor in the country’s political landscape.
