Okpebholo Vows to Step Up Demolition of Buildings Linked to Cults

Governor Monday Okpebholo has pledged to step up the demolition of buildings linked to cult groups.

The governor’s administration has also threatened to take legal action against members of the Neo Black Movement, a group accused of being involved in cult activities.

According to a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fred Itua, the state government has begun consulting with legal experts to prosecute leaders of the Neo Black Movement.

This move follows recent public admissions by self-acclaimed members of the group, who condemned the demolition of one of their alleged operational bases in Benin City.

The demolished building, which was said to be a hub for coordinating attacks across the Benin metropolis and other parts of the state, was brought down based on actionable intelligence and in full compliance with the law.

The governor’s administration has insisted that it will not tolerate the existence of criminal enclaves in the state.

Governor Okpebholo has also challenged the Neo Black Movement to provide evidence of its claim that it has renovated six public schools in the state since he assumed office.

By publicly associating themselves with the demolished building and its activities, the group’s leaders have inadvertently confirmed their involvement in criminal activities, paving the way for their prosecution.

The governor’s tough stance on cultism and crime has been welcomed by many residents of the state, who have been calling for decisive action to address the growing insecurity in the region.

With the renewed crackdown on crime, it is expected that the state government will leave no stone unturned in its quest to restore peace and order in Edo State.

The governor’s decision to take a tough stance on cultism and crime has been widely welcomed by residents of the state. Many have expressed hope that the renewed crackdown will lead to a significant reduction in crime and a safer environment for all.

However, some have also raised concerns about the potential for human rights abuses and the need for the state government to ensure that its actions are guided by the rule of law.
