Ben Murray-Bruce Predicts Davido Has Potentials to Become Osun Governor
Former Nigerian Senator and media mogul, Ben Murray-Bruce, has declared that Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has the potential to become the Governor of Osun State in the future.
Speaking in a recent episode of his popular “Common Sense” series, Murray-Bruce praised Davido’s political awareness, family background, and influence, suggesting the Afrobeats icon could play a transformative role in Nigerian politics.
“With his roots, passion for the people, and bold political views, Davido could lead Osun State one day. Davido, if you run, I predict you will win,” Murray-Bruce stated.
Murray-Bruce pointed to Davido’s political lineage, noting that his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is the incumbent Governor of Osun State. Another uncle, the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, was the first civilian governor of the state during the Babangida military administration.
These family ties, Murray-Bruce said, place Davido in a strong position to understand and influence governance.
Beyond family history, Davido has been vocal about his political stance, often engaging in civic conversations and endorsing candidates.
Murray-Bruce emphasized that Davido’s deep connection to the grassroots and his popularity among Nigeria’s youth make him a formidable figure should he choose to enter the political arena.
The remarks have sparked widespread conversation online, with many Nigerians weighing the implications of entertainers transitioning into politics. Supporters argue that public figures like Davido bring energy, relatability, and fresh ideas that could help rejuvenate governance, particularly in states like Osun with a large youth population.
As the debate unfolds, all eyes are now on Davido, whose next move could redefine the intersection of celebrity and politics in Nigeria.
