Wike Commends Tinubu for FCT Infrastrural Transformation

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the significant transformation of Abuja’s infrastructure since his assumption of office on May 29, 2023.

Wike made this statement on Saturday while inspecting several ongoing projects in the territory, highlighting the President’s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure to the nation’s capital.

The Minister emphasized that the city’s infrastructural landscape has undergone a remarkable change, with numerous projects nearing completion and others set to be commissioned in commemoration of the President’s second anniversary in office. Wike stated that the exercise would take at least two weeks to complete, showcasing the sheer scale of the projects undertaken by the administration.

Wike praised President Tinubu for his leadership, saying, “Mr President has given first-class infrastructure to Abuja. All of you can attest to the fact that, indeed, Abuja has really changed.

So, we are happy for it. I want to thank God Almighty for providing the right leadership to Mr President to provide the dividends of democracy to the residents of Abuja.”

The Minister also noted that only those who are visually impaired could accuse the President of non-performance in the territory, given the tangible evidence of progress.

“I don’t see why anybody would say that Mr President has not done well, except you are just blind. Except, you don’t want to admit something that you know that is good. We are happy that we have fulfilled the promises that we have made,” Wike said.

Some of the projects lined up for commissioning and inauguration include the Gishiri interchange, the OSEX to Wassa Junction, the International Conference Centre, and the N5 road. Additionally, the Abuja Greater Water project will also be inaugurated, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to providing essential services to the residents of Abuja.

Wike emphasized that the ultimate goal of the administration is to make the people happy, as they are the primary beneficiaries of the government’s efforts. “What makes us happy is when people are happy, because at the end of the day, we are working for the people. I have said it before, leadership is a major issue. When you have the right leadership, people will benefit from it,” he stated.

The Minister’s comments come as the nation prepares to celebrate the President’s second anniversary in office, with a series of events and project inaugurations planned to showcase the administration’s achievements.

The transformation of Abuja’s infrastructure is expected to be a major highlight of the celebrations, demonstrating the President’s commitment to providing world-class amenities to the nation’s capital.
