Super Eagles Coach Eric Chelle Invites 12 NPFL Stars to London Tournament

In preparation for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has extended invitations to 12 players from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) to participate in the upcoming London invitational tournament, the Unity Cup.
The tournament, scheduled to take place later this month, will feature the Super Eagles alongside arch-rivals Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago.
The invited players include Sikiru Alimi from Remo Stars, CHAN Eagles captain Nduka Junior, Ahmed Musa, Isaac Saviour, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi from Enugu Rangers, Adamu Abubakar, Vincent Temitope from Plateau United, and Papa Daniel from Niger Tornadoes, among others.
Notably, Papa Daniel was part of the Super Eagles’ squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March.
The London tournament is seen as a crucial part of the team’s preparation for the 2025 CHAN, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in August.
Coach Chelle’s decision to invite NPFL players to the tournament is a strategic move to assess their skills and readiness for international competition.
The Unity Cup will provide a platform for the players to showcase their talents and potentially earn a spot in the Super Eagles’ squad for the CHAN tournament.
With the 2025 CHAN just around the corner, Coach Chelle is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to assemble a strong and competitive team.
