Senator Ndume Commends President Tinubu’s Decision Prioritising Patronage of Local Goods

The Senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, has commended President Bola Tinubu for taking a bold step to ban the importation of foreign goods into the country.
In a statement, Senator Ndume described the decision as a “patriotic and timely move” that will help to boost Nigeria’s economy and promote local industries.
According to him, the ban on foreign goods will not only help to conserve the country’s foreign exchange but also create jobs and stimulate economic growth.
“I want to commend President Tinubu for taking this bold step to ban the importation of foreign goods. This decision is a clear demonstration of his commitment to the growth and development of our economy,” Senator Ndume said.
He noted that Nigeria has the potential to produce most of the goods that are being imported, adding that the ban will help to encourage local production and reduce the country’s dependence on foreign goods.
Senator Ndume also urged Nigerians to support the government’s decision by patronizing locally made goods, saying that this will help to boost the economy and create jobs.
“The ban on foreign goods is a wake-up call for us as a nation to look inward and develop our local industries. I urge Nigerians to support this decision by patronizing locally made goods. By doing so, we will be creating jobs, stimulating economic growth, and reducing our dependence on foreign goods,” he said.
The Senator also called on the government to provide the necessary support to local manufacturers to enable them to produce high-quality goods that can compete with foreign products.
President Tinubu had recently announced a ban on the importation of foreign goods as part of his administration’s efforts to boost the country’s economy and promote local industries. The ban is expected to take effect soon, and it is hoped that it will help to reduce the country’s trade deficit and promote economic growth.
