EFCC May Release VeryDarkman Today

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is expected to release popular social media influencer, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, from custody today, Tuesday.

This development comes after the anti-graft agency arrested him recently over allegations of cyberstalking.

According to a senior official of the EFCC, who spoke on condition of anonymity, VeryDarkMan is likely to be released today, but will be formally charged to court on Thursday.

The official confirmed that Otse is still in custody, but has not yet been formally arraigned.

VeryDarkMan’s arrest was confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, who took to social media platform X to announce that his client was arrested by a team of policemen, along with his friend, C Park. Adeyanju’s statement sparked widespread concern among VeryDarkMan’s fans and followers, who have been eagerly awaiting updates on his situation.

The EFCC’s decision to release VeryDarkMan today may be seen as a positive development in the case, but it is unclear what the formal charges against him will entail. Cyberstalking is a serious offense in Nigeria, and if convicted, VeryDarkMan could face significant penalties.

As the situation unfolds, VeryDarkMan’s fans and supporters will be watching closely to see how the case progresses. The social media influencer has built a large following online, and his arrest has sparked a heated debate about the limits of free speech and the role of law enforcement in regulating online activity.

The EFCC has been cracking down on cybercrime in recent months, and VeryDarkMan’s case is just one of several high-profile arrests made by the agency. As the commission continues to investigate and prosecute cases of cyberstalking and other online offenses, Nigerians will be watching to see how the law is applied and whether justice is served.

For now, VeryDarkMan’s release from custody today will come as a relief to his fans and supporters, but the road ahead remains uncertain. Will he be able to clear his name and avoid conviction, or will he face serious consequences for his alleged actions? Only time will tell.
