All Delta State PDP House of Representatives Members Defect to APC

All members of the House of Representatives from Delta State who were elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, during a plenary session on Tuesday.

The defection of the Delta State PDP House of Representatives members is the latest in a series of high-profile defections from the PDP to the APC. Former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, and his successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, had earlier defected to the APC during a stakeholders meeting in Asaba, Delta State.

The mass defection of PDP lawmakers is expected to have significant implications for the political landscape of Delta State and the country as a whole.

The APC is likely to gain a significant advantage in the state, while the PDP will be left to regroup and reassess its strategy.

The defection of the Delta State PDP lawmakers is not an isolated incident. According to Ikenga Ugochinyere, a House of Representatives member from Imo State, two more state governors and 40 lawmakers from the PDP are expected to defect to the APC soon. This would further weaken the PDP and strengthen the APC’s position in the country.

Despite the defections, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has expressed confidence that the PDP will be repositioned and emerge stronger. He stated that those who want to defect are free to leave, and that the party will continue to work towards its goals and objectives.
