Reginia Askia Apologises to Akpabio After Watching Mgbeke Debunk Natasha’s Allegations

Nigerian born – American actress, US-based beauty queen and registered nurse, Regina Askia has tendered an apology to Senate President, Godswill Akpabio after watching a livestream on Facebook by Prof. Mgbeke, also known as Dr Sandra Duru.
The apology comes after Dr. Mgbeke presented evidence that allegedly proves suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti lied about her sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President.
Regina Askia was one of the women who had publicly supported Senator Akpoti on social media, but after watching Prof. Mgbeke’s interview, she felt compelled to apologize to the Senate President.
In a statement posted on her social media page, Askia wrote, “Just did one of the hardest things – I tendered an unequivocal apology to my ‘Big Brother,’ the Senate President, after watching that earth-shaking interview by Dr. Duru. The middle ground I had tried to maintain disappeared, and tonight, I ate humble pie.”
Prof Mgbeke’s explosive exposé has sent shockwaves across the nation, with many calling for Senator Akpoti to come clean about her allegations.
In the video, Prof Mgbeke alleged that Senator Akpoti had confessed to her that she had no evidence to prove the sexual harassment allegations and had instead paid several individuals, including Oby Ezekwesilli, Arise TV, Dr. Abiola, and FIDA, to flip the issue to sexual harassment.
Prof Mgbeke also alleged that Senator Akpoti had referred to Nigerians as “G and H,” meaning gullible and hungry, in an apparent attempt to manipulate public opinion.
The revelations have sparked outrage, with many Nigerians taking to social media to express their disappointment and anger at Senator Akpoti’s alleged deception.
Regina Askia’s apology has been seen as a significant development in the saga, with many praising her for taking a stand and acknowledging her mistake.
In her statement, Askia also expressed her sympathies to women who genuinely endure sexual harassment, while also emphasizing the need to check the “weaponization of gender-based sympathies.”
As the controversy continues to unfold, Prof Mgbeke has hinted that she is not done yet with her exposures, stating that Senator Akpoti’s “careless talk” has revealed a lot of information that will be made public in due time.
